CAMBRIDGE, OH - The 48th Salt Fork Arts and Crafts Festival is coming in August, bringing a variety of artistic creations from oil and watercolor paintings to jewelry and woodcarvings.

You're sure to find an artistic touch to enjoy as you stroll through the Cambridge City Park on August 11th, 12th, and 13th.

When you want to take a break, you could head to the Performing Arts Tent or the Big Park Pavilion for a wide variety of musical entertainment, including bluegrass and gospel singers.

Also featured are several local youth acts. The outstanding PanJGea, a steel drum band from John Glenn High School, brings the sound of Caribbean music to the festival grounds. Another group from John Glenn High School, the String Sounds, adds a touch of elegance as they stroll through the crowd. The Yurco Boys, consisting of three brothers (Tanner, Lane and Clayton), add the flavor of country.

A gospel quartet, The Loves, and a Celtic group, The Ladies of Longford, have a rich blend of voices that only families can produce. Both groups have dynamic harmony and vary their program to keep audiences coming back for more.

Southridge Bluegrass will be making their first appearance at the Salt Fork Festival this year. This group likes to mix in a little fun with their country sound when they perform as the House Band at the legendary Mountaineer Opry House.

Then head to the Big Pavilion to watch Dance Central students perform dances from their Spring Recital a wide variety here includes: hip-hop, jazz, ballet, and tap. This is also the location for Cambridge City Band, CHS Jazz Alumni Band, Cambridge Singers, and the Festival Chorus. One of the highlights of the weekend comes with that Festival Chorus, directed by Bob Jones. This group of talented local singers creates a dynamic sound of gospel and show music.

On Saturday, two new events will take place - a Classic Car Show and Tethered Balloon rides.

The SFACF is sponsored by the Ohio Arts & Crafts Foundation. The Foundation was created in 1968 to enhance and promote Ohio arts by fostering artistic creativity, expression, and education. Cultural enrichment, historical folk art, the performing arts and other fine arts exhibitions, demonstrations, instructions and performances are the cornerstone of the Foundation's focus.
