MANSFIELD, OH - The Walter Renz murder trial resumed Thursday as jurors heard closing arguments for the suspected involvement in the disappearance, and believed murder, of 62-year-old Mansfield resident Patsy Hudson.

Renz is charged with aggravated murder, murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, receiving stolen property, identity fraud and misuse of a credit card, accusing him of using Hudson's debit card.

Patsy Hudson, of Spring Street, was reported missing by her family on December 22, 2015. According to documents filed in Municipal Court, the couple was seen moving out of their home on July 4th and Hudson has not been seen since July 4th.

Human remains were found in several rural areas of northern Richland County in February 2016 and the coroner's office confirmed it was those of Hudson.

On February 4, 2016, Buckner and Renz, were arrested in Lewis County Tennessee by the Marshals Task Force at a roadside campground. Renz was held on a Receiving Stolen Property warrant. Linda Buckner was held on a parole violation from Kentucky.

According to the search warrant detectives found out that Hudson's Social Security checks were still being deposited in her bank account and ATM withdrawals have been made out of the account across the country.

Detectives also discovered that a phone bill was being paid using Hudson's debit card.

Renz was found competent to stand trial back in January following a competency hearing before Judge James DeWeese.

Renz's girlfriend, Linda Buckner, was convicted in November for her role in the death of Hudson and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility or parole.

As of 5:00 p.m. Thursday, the 7 man, 5 woman jury panel had not reached a verdict.

The jury will continue their deliberation in the Walter Renz murder trial Friday morning in the courtroom of Judge James DeWeese.
