Gary Cates Promotes Aspire Program In Mansfield

MANSFIELD,OH - Senior Vice Chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education, Gary Cates, spoke to members of the Mansfield City Schools Adult and Community Education Aspire/GED Program on Thursday. 

The Ohio Department of Higher Education announced that the ABLE program is changing its name to Aspire on April 17th of this year. 

The Ohio Aspire Program provides free services for those who are looking for assistance in acquiring skills to be successful in post-secondary education, training, and employment. The programs offer classes in the Mansfield area. Anyone who signs up with the program receives an assessment to help determine their educational needs and goals. 

All 88 Ohio Counties have the following services available through the Aspire Program: Basic math, reading, and writing skills, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Adult Secondary Education/GED preparation, Transition services - including employment and post-secondary, life skills, employment skills, computer literacy, family literacy, workplace literacy, corrections education, and distance education.
