ONTARIO, OH - The long-vacated former General Motors site has Ontario City Council members up in arms over the Adler Group for dragging their feet in getting the property developed.

A number of Ontario City Council members took aim at two Adler Group representatives over the lack of progress at the former GM site with Councilman Eddie Gallo talking about promises not kept.

Council members sent a notice of default completion guarantee to the Adler Group.

At issue is an agreement where the Adler Group planned to redevelop the site into a multi-tenant facility with 500 jobs which had to be created on the site in five years or the city would receive $1-million, which is in escrow.

However, Adler Group says part of the delay was due to waiting for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to approve the site.

Council then went into executive session to discuss the matter but did not take action on the issue.

The Adler reps say they are willing to work with council.

The Adler reps say they have always had a goal of fulfilling their obligations under the aforementioned agreement.
