MANSFIELD, OH - Richland Carrousel Park held a day to honor Mansfield veterans with "Purple Heart Day."

"We want to say 'Thank You' to all the veterans and those who have been in the service," said Co-Director Sharon Bishop. "They get to ride free - all day."

The Carrousel also provides free rides for veterans on Labor Day and Memorial Day, among other events.

"We want to remember all of those who have helped us so much," Bishop said.

Richland Carrousel Park also has Friday afternoon cookouts, where community members can go to get food and help draw people to the downtown area. Also coming up is the Carrousel's 26th Anniversary at the end of August. For more information and a full list of events, visit Richland Carrousel Park's website.
