Mary E. Myers, 89, of Ontario, Ohio, passed away late Thursday evening, March 16, 2017, at Sarah Moore Community in Delaware, Ohio. She was born February 20, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Richard Melvin and Florence Hanna (Platt) Miller.

She was an active member of Ontario United Methodist Church and loved her church family. Her favorite place to volunteer with the church was in the nursery. She was generous in giving of her time, talents, attention and love. She retired as a secretary from Stingel Elementary school after 30 years of service. In her free time, she enjoyed vegetable gardening, traveling, and watching and feeding the many birds that visited her home.

Mary is survived by a son, Greg Myers (Erin MacLellan) of Delaware, OH; a daughter, Sandra (David) Thomas of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren, Jacob Myers of Delaware, OH, Nicole Bernstein of Las Vegas, NV, and Ben (Hannah) Harris of Galion, OH; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Hale Myers; brother, Melvin; and sister, Pearl.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Ontario United Methodist Church, 3540 Park Avenue West, Ontario.
