CLEVELAND, OH- Does a team actually win 20 games in a row if none of the players or coaches are talking about it? The answer is yes! And the Cleveland Indians did just that on Tuesday night, beating the Tigers 2-0 to tie the American League record for most consecutive wins.

The Indians have taken a game by game approach throughout the season which has helped aid their historical streak. Skipper Terry Francona and each member of the team WMFD talked to before and after Tuesday's win said they had not been talking about the win streak in the club house and were trying to stay focused on the moment.

Tribe starting pitcher Corey Kluber was his usual dominating self against the Tigers, recording his third complete game shutout of the season, striking out eight Detroit batters and allowing five hits and no walks. All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor hit a solo shot in Cleveland's first at-bat of the night, his 30th home run of the season, and first baseman Carlos Santana later scored on a wild pitch in the sixth to round out the Indians scoring.

At 89-56 Cleveland has the best record in the American League and has a run differential of 102 over their last 20 games, the best in that span since 1939. The Tribe can match the Cubs MLB record 21 game win streak with a win over Detroit on Wednesday afternoon for the best run in MLB history without a tie. The 1916 New York Giants did win 26 in a row but had 12 and 14-game win streaks separated by a tie.
